"Window Pain." The Marston Water Tower as viewed from the S.W. wing of Metals Development Building. The gradient of purple and blue is due to stresses in the window panes, through which the image was captured, changing the polarization of the light as it passes through the glass. A polarized lens filter allows visualization of the stresses in the glass. Hence the tongue and cheek title: Window Pain.
