Plasma Sprayer. The plasma spray gun ejects molten metal oxide at high velocity, the oxide impinges on the surface of sacrificial form, or core, forming a solid oxide part. Note the ear plugs, the spray loud like a jet engine. This method of spray forming parts or coatings is employed by the Ames Laboratory to study the properties of coatings as well as prototyping parts for high pressure gas atomization.
