Plasma Spray. An Ames Laboratory scientific staff member programs the motion of a robotic arm with a plasma spray gun attached. The plasma spray gun ejects molten metal oxide at high velocity, the oxide impinges on the surface of sacrificial form, or core, forming a solid oxide part. Note the ear plugs, the spray loud like a jet engine.
