A splatter of injection cast metal on top of a water cooled copper mold. The visible mold opening in the foreground is approximately 1mm x 1 mm. Injection casting is a rapid solidification method used to screen for amorphous alloys (metallic glass). This system is part of the Materials Preparation Center's suite of casting systems.
