The is the liquid metal outlet hole on Ames Laboratory's high pressure gas atomizer. It is used to make sub 150µm spherical powder. Research conducted on the powders ranges from additive manufacturing alloys to magnetic materials. View is post atomization, brown color is from Mn oxide.
