On August 10th, 2020, a derecho storm hit Iowa letting a trail of damage and leaving Ames without power. Perhaps, one of the few positive things left by this storm was the minimal light pollution. This peculiar situation, along with the absence of moonlight, a clear night, the time of the year, and my passion for astronomy conspired to take this unique photo. Enjoy!
